Cats and kittens will be available for adoption at the Guts & Glory Digestive and Wellness Expo on Saturday, Sept. 28, the Animal Rescue League of Berks County announced earlier in the week.
The mobile cat adoption event will take place on the Perkins Plaza Event Lawn at Penn State Berks, 1801 Broadcasting Road, Reading from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
You can adopt a fur friend or hairline feline but the ARL advises that adoption fees will vary by pet. Potential adopters must go through the rescue league's regular process, which includes completing an adopter's profile and speaking with an adoption counselor.
Beyond the cuteness factor making you fall for these cats, an adoption counselor will ensure that the selected pet is a good match. They will review the cat and how it will fit with the adopter's home, family, and lifestyle, according to the rescue league.
Adopters should also bring a cat carrier, or they can purchase one from the rescue league for $5.
The Animal Rescue League of Berks County partnered with My Gut Instinct, a nonprofit organization in Berks County that wants "to promote community awareness of health and wellness through preventative health care and holistic wellbeing," according to the organization's website.
My Gut Instinct will also host a donation drive benefiting the Animal Rescue League Berks County during the event.
More information about the adoption event can be found by contacting the Animal Rescue League of Berks County at adoption@berksarl.org. The cats that will be adoptable at the event can be seen here.
